Professional Experience

Dr. Noah Bareket  has over 20 years experience in optical system research and development across multiple optical system types.   His experience includes concept development, system architecture design, performance analysis, and detailed engineering.

Throughout his professional career, Dr. Bareket led multi-discipline teams of mechanical, electronics, algorithm and software engineers in development of systems for semiconductor manufacturing tools, aerospace and defense industries. He is the author of research papers on Image Understanding, Image Analysis, Adaptive Optics, Interferometry, Profilometry, Wavefront Sensing, and Optical Inspection, and holds 21 patents, with 14 patents pending.

As a Principal Optical Engineer and Director of Engineering at KLA-Tencor Corporation,  Dr. Bareket designed and developed systems for wafer metrology, including novel overlay metrology, scatterometry and wafer tracking sensors.  Technologies employed include scanning optical microscopy, bright and dark-field imaging systems, and spectroscopy.

Prior to KLA-Tencor, Dr. Bareket held the position of Senior Staff Scientist at the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory.  While at Lockheed, Dr. Bareket conducted Research and Development of adaptive optics systems, wavefront sensors, high-speed and pulsed laser interferometry, and design and development of a variety of strategic and tactical optical systems for defense and aerospace applications.
